Health Atlas helps Ohio county to better understand communities
Activate Allen County, Mercy Health and the Allen County Public Health Department collaborated to launch the Allen County Health Atlas. Now, community members in this northwestern county in Ohio along with organizations, businesses and researchers can access data across Allen County’s 12 cities and towns, 19 ZIP codes, and 35 Census tracts using the new Allen County Health Atlas.
The Health Atlas provides an innovative, easy-to-use platform that allows any stakeholder to access and use data to understand health disparities and drive change regardless of their data science experience. It features over 100 indicators that can be visualized in maps, charts, graphs and tables for any location in Allen County which can be shared inside and outside of the organization to facilitate collaboration.
“Our mission is to protect and promote the health of Allen County – and fulfilling that mission requires having data to provide proof points on what our communities need. Metopio’s Health Atlas makes it easy for us to collaborate and provide critical data but also enables us to easily work together towards similar goals to drive real change and improve communities across our region.”Kayla Monfort, Co-Director, Activate Allen County
To increase the ability of users to drive meaningful insights, Metopio’s technology enables community residents and stakeholders to review, explore and compare health-related data over time. Current data in the Allen County Health Atlas is a resource that can be used across community stakeholders for program planning and grant writing. Residents will have increased access to the progress that is being made implementing the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) and other important health priorities and goals.
“Communities deserve better access to better data to maximize their impact they can have,” said Angie Grover, Chief Operating Officer at Metopio. “We’re proud to partner with Allen County to take an incredibly positive step towards improving the health and wellness of the people and places they serve, and to set an example for other communities who would like to take a more data-driven approach to their work.”
Metopio provides data, analysis and visualization in a single, tested interface that removes risk and maximizes the work of any user regardless of their data science background to organizations, government and individuals across the country.
